**Gay Doctor Shares His Experience of Coming Out in a Conservative Country**

 

Dr. Omar is a gay doctor who works in a hospital in a conservative country where homosexuality is illegal. 

 

He decided to come out to his family and friends when he was 25 years old, after years of hiding his true identity. He says that it was the hardest thing he ever did, but also the most liberating.

 

"I was afraid of losing everything: my job, my family, my friends. But I couldn't live a lie anymore. I wanted to be myself and to love who I wanted to love," he says.

 

Dr. Omar faced a lot of challenges and discrimination after coming out. He lost some of his friends and relatives who rejected him. He also faced harassment and threats from some of his colleagues and patients who found out about his sexuality. He says that he had to be very careful and discreet about his personal life.

 

"I had to be strong and resilient. I also had to find support from people who accepted me and loved me for who I am. I joined a local LGBTQ+ group where I met other gay doctors and professionals. They helped me cope and feel less alone," he says.

 

Dr. Omar hopes that one day, his country will become more tolerant and inclusive of

 

 LGBTQ+ people. He says that he is proud of being a gay doctor and that he wants to inspire other young LGBTQ+ people to pursue their dreams.

 

"I want to show them that they can be successful and happy, no matter what their sexuality is. I want to be a role model for them and for society," he says.
